The best way to get some Shimmering Crystals is to go to the Radiant Garden and defeat some Blue Sea Salts in the Aqueduct.
You can also buy them from the Medal Shop located in the Mirage Arena for 300 Medals.
Getting To The Radiant Garden (Aqueduct)
To get to the Aqueduct where lots of farmable Blue Sea Salts are gathered, you must first go to the Radiant Garden.
The Radiant Garden is located on the upper-right side of the World Map.
Then, select “Castle Town” as your destination if you’ve already cleared the Radiant Garden map.
If you haven’t cleared the map yet, then finish the story missions in the Radiant Garden first. Doing this is required for you to unlock all of its zones.
Upon arriving at Castle Town, all you have to do is go north to the Fountain Court, then west to find the Aqueduct.
To traverse the Fountain Court and get to where the path to the Aqueduct is located, you must use the small fountain jets in the ground by jumping on them.
They will boost the height of your jump, allowing you to reach the top of the Fountain Court.
The path connecting the Fountain Court and Aqueduct should look like this:
After going through the path, go all the way to the end of the map and you’ll see tons of Blue Sea Salts.
Farming Shimmering Crystals From The Unversed (Blue Sea Salt)
There are multiple Unversed in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep that drop Shimmering Crystals:

The best Unversed to farm Shimmering Crystals from are Blue Sea Salts not just because they’re extremely easy to kill, but also because they frequently spawn in groups.
You can farm Shimmering Crystals from Archravens as well. They spawn in the Aqueduct just as Blue Sea Salts do, so you won’t have to change locations.
Archravens also drop some Chaos Crystals at Shop Levels 7-8, so you might be able to farm two types of crystals at the same time if you farm this specific zone.
How To Beat Blue Sea Salts
Blue Sea Salts aren’t that hard to kill, even though they spawn in groups.
They have an average HP stat and will give you a decent amount of EXP when killed.

The easiest way to beat Blue Sea Salts fast for farming is to use AoE Fire-type attacks like Firaga, Triple Firaga, or Firaga Burst.
Just watch out for their ranged attacks, as they can be pretty hard to evade when they engage you in a group.
Buying Shimmering Crystals From The Mirage Arena
The Mirage Arena is located on the upper-left side of the World Map.
There, you can find the Medal Shop which sells all sorts of useful items such as Command Skills and Crystals.
Shimmering Crystals cost 300 medals each in the Medal Shop. Buy only what you need if you want to save up your Medals for other items.
Using Shimmering Crystals
Shimmering Crystals can be used as Synthesis materials whenever you’re Melding new Command Skills from existing ones.
Using a Shimmering Crystal as your Synthesis material will provide you with either of the following abilities depending on their type:
