The best way to get Soothing Crystals is to farm an Unversed called “Flood” in the Castle of Dreams, as they have the highest drop rate for Soothing Crystals in the game.
Alternatively, you can also buy Soothing Crystals with the Medals you get from the Mirage Arena. One Soothing Crystal costs 400 Mirage Arena Medals.
Getting To The Castle Of Dreams (Wardrobe Room)
The Castle of Dreams is located at the bottom-left corner of the World Map—right beside the Dwarf Woodlands.
Upon arriving there, select Cinderella’s Room as your destination. From there, head to the Mousehole, then further south until you find the path leading to the Wardrobe Room.
You’ll find several Flood spawns in the Wardrobe Room, which will allow you to farm multiple Soothing Crystals in one go.
Farming Soothing Crystals From The Unversed (Flood)
There are only two Unversed in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep that drop Soothing Crystals:

Of course, the best Unversed to farm would be the Flood, as they have the highest drop rate out of the two—not to mention you can encounter them almost anywhere on the World Map.
Most of them are found in the Castle of Dreams, which is one of the first few maps you unlock at the beginning of the game.
How To Beat Floods
Floods are by far the weakest Unversed in the game.
They are very easy to beat, which means farming Soothing Crystals from them should be a very fast and smooth process even in the highest difficulty.

They have very low HP and provide you with only a few EXP when killed. They also have no special resistances or weaknesses to speak of, so feel free to deal with them however you like.

While Floods aren’t dangerous individually, it can be hard to deal with several of them at once. The easiest way to beat them efficiently in a group is to have a few AoE Command Skills at the ready.
Buying Soothing Crystals From The Mirage Arena
You can buy a lot of valuable items from the Mirage Arena, which is located on the upper-left side of the World Map.
In the Medal Shop, you can buy Soothing Crystals for 400 Medals each.
Using Soothing Crystals
Soothing Crystals can be used as Synthesis materials when Melding new Command Skills from two pre-existing ones.
The new Command Skill can obtain either of the four Support Abilities depending on their type if you use Soothing Crystals for Melding:
